Happy Birthday McKenzie

What a whirlwind last week was. We had a great time helping McKenzie celebrate her 5th birthday. She had much bigger plans than we could accommodate but all in all I think it was a great success. McKenzie decided she was going to have a sleepover for all of her friends. Not only was she going to have a sleepover, it was going to be at Disney World. When I told her we could not afford that she told me that Reiche was going to pay for it. My only question after that was could I go too? I am sure glad she has big aspirations. We were able to talk her into a small party celebrated with her best friend Caroline at Bonkers. Caroline's birthday was April 13th. Her mom and I planned a party for the two girls together and invited some mutual friends from their school. They had so much fun. Since we had the party on a Tuesday night the girls had the whole place to themselves. It was wonderful.

McKenzie's actual Birthday was Wednesday. Tim had school that night but we sang to her that morning and gave her, her birthday present from us. She thought we should sing to her again on Thursday morning. Such a little princess she is :-) I love it.

Then we celebrated with family on Saturday. Saturday was a crazy day but oh so much fun. We went to my grandmas estate auction in the morning and then back to our house in time for our family to arrive. McKenzie had a lot of fun running through the house giggling and playing with her cousins. We enjoyed getting to see and visit with her aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandparents. They all spoiled her with the amount of gifts she received. We had to do some major searching for homes for everything. But McKenzie has loved everything and plays with her new toys a lot. After the birthday party we went to dinner with Bruce and Cathy/Nana and Pas at Addison's. Dinner was nice and we enjoyed getting to sit down to visit with them. McKenzie loves her Nana so much. She really enjoyed that one on one time with her. McKenzie even got to ride to the restaurant with Nana. She told her all about how she was a "good colorer". I know Nana was well educated during that short commute. I will post some photos from the family party soon.

Silas' wedding

Shyla and I, along with several others from work, went to celebrate with Silas on his wedding day. Tim was so sweet to stay home and keep both kids. (Thank you Babe). Shyla and I made a full day out of it. We left my house around 11:30am and didn't get home until around 11pm. We started the day going to lunch at Noodles and Co. Then spent the afternoon and evening at the wedding/reception. The wedding was very pretty. It was a Catholic wedding but not a full mass. At the reception they served a wonderful dinner, we got to talk to several co workers and then we tried to show Silas how to dance. Shyla and I both had a great time.

Do you think she loves her little brother?

McKenzie and Daddy were playing baby. Daddy put "the baby" in Carter's crib. McKenzie wanted Carter to lay in there with her. It is hard to believe just 5 short years ago, she slept in that crib every night.
McKenzie watches Carter for me each morning while I finish getting ready for work.
McKenzie wants to hold Carter everyday. She doesn't let us forget it if she has not held him yet that day.

Easter Weekend.

We had a great Easter this year. Saturday we visited the Easter Bunny at Bass Pro. While we were at Bass Pro we had to visit the fish tank. I think McKenzie enjoyed the fish more than the bunny. Sunday we went to church and to grandma's for lunch. Easter was very generous to my kids this year. They received water color paints, books, clothes, movies and toys. McKenzie got lots of candy and Carter got Baby food instead of candy. Thanks to Nana, Grandad and Reiche, Uncle Joe and Aunt Shelly and Grandma Lou for all the wonderful gifts.

Eggstravaganza

McKenzie had a great time coloring her Easter eggs this year. She was so excited that she wanted to show them to her daddy. After showing Tim she tried to put them back in the refrigerator. Oops, one fell and hit the floor. McKenzie reached down to pick it up and another one fell out of the basket. She tried to pick those up and a third one fell on the floor.:-) After helping her get the unbroken eggs into the fridge, McKenzie had time to process that 3 of her eggs were broken. She cried, not because she broke so many eggs but because the pink one was broke. Can't wait to see what the Easter bunny brings the kiddos in the morning.
