A good nights sleep

We never know where or how we will find Carter slepping.  I am sure you remember this post where Carter was falling off his bed.  The other day I got up in the middle of the night to find Carter sound asleep in the recliner with boots. :)  

Then a few nights later I went in to cover Carter up in bed and found that he had fallen asleep reading.  He is actually sound asleep under that book. 

The kids and I went to MU's vet school open house.  The kids get to see, hold and pet a lot of different animals.

Sunflowers

McKenzie stayed with Granddad and Reiche over spring break.  Reiche told McKenzie they were going to plant "some" flowers.  After they were done, McKenzie was so upset because they didn't plant "sun"flowers.  Granddad told Reiche to just buy some sunflowers seeds and they would plant them too. 

McKenzie has so much fun helping Granddad do all his chores outside....from feeding the cows, digging in the dirt, collecting eggs from the chickens, walking the dogs, etc.

McKenzie and Carter had a check last week at our pediatrician.  Their new office is so pretty.  McKenzie and Carter are watching the fish in the built in fish tanks below.

I tried and tried to take one, just one, good picture of both of them.  These two are always on the move.

The murals on the walls are amazing.

Shelly and Henry were in town last weekend.  We all went to Mom and Dad's one night for a wiener roast and to celebrate McKenzie's birthday.

Easter at Nana and Bruce's

This year we spent Easter with Cathy and Bruce.  McKenzie had spent the weekend with Nana and Bruce.  Tim, Carter and I drove in on Sunday for a wonderful lunch, Easter egg hunt and a birthday celebration for McKenzie.

McKenzie is very organized, she had an itinerary for the afternoon.

Tons of Trucks

 The city sponsored this event.  There was every kind of truck imaginable.....fire truck, mail truck, monster truck, police SUV, electric company trucks, ambulance, tow trucks, school bus, tractors and so many more.  They were all there for the kids to climb in, go through, honk their horns and to see the lights going.

McKenzie didn't want to go to Tons of Trucks because it was for "boys" but I think she had more fun than Carter did. 

Time with friends

Last weekend we met one of my friends, Karissa, and her two kids at Stephens park to play and to eat a picnic lunch.  Karissa and I enjoyed getting to talk while the kids played.

We walked around the park to play on a different set of play ground equipment.  Carter got tired and decided he would rest for a minute.

After spending several hours at the park everyone was wore out and we all took a nap that afternoon.  When Tim got home he found us piled in our bed, McKenzie and I still sound asleep and Carter watching Elmo.  

Monkeying around in Cancun

Shyla loved the monkeys, she could spot the photographers with their monkeys as soon as they got to the beach.  They would walk up and down the beach taking pictures of anyone who wanted to have their picture taken.  This little guy was so sweet and he was so well trained.

Our resort was beautiful.  The weather was absolutely perfect every day.  Shyla and I had an amazing girls weekend at the beach.

The water was so clear and beautiful.

We made great use of the lounge chairs.  We read, napped, talked, people watched and just relaxed for four days.
