Family Fun

We went to Adventure clubs open house.  Adventure club is a before and after school program.  McKenzie enjoys it and gets upset if we pick her up to early of an evening.
At the open house they provided dinner, crafts, bounce houses, games, a photo booth and several local vendors to share information about their services.

Did you know sonic has a mascot?  This is Casey the hot dog.

McKenzie loved the photo both and getting dressed up.  We asked Carter to dress up and he just wanted to bounce.

This is where he wanted to bounce.

He had so much fun in the bounce houses.

This was the 6th or 7th photo I took of Tim, he kept making faces but this one he looks pretty cute in.  Even with that ornery grin.

The Show Me Games hosted the pumpkin fun run.  It was a 1.3 mile run.  The kids I participated in the run.  I really enjoyed getting to run with them.

McKenzie saw some of her friends from school.

Carter sure does love his big sister.

He got so upset when anyone would pass him.  I think he is going to be pretty competitive.

My little 199 finishing strong.  As soon as he crossed the finish line he yelled, "I won".

McKenzie and one of her best friends, Kira.

After the race they had a fire truck the kids could climb on and in.

And a horse to pet.

After the race Kira and her brother came over to play for awhile.

Jayden's 9th birthday

We went to Kansas city last weekend to help Jayden celebrate her 9th birthday.  She had a bowling party.  The kids had a wonderful time.

My little man waiting for his turn to bowl.

Tim is a pretty good bowler and I am NOT, but I beat him our first game.  Then....he got warmed up, I didn't feel the need to take a picture of the score of the second game :-)
(I am J with 105 and he is T with 104)

The birthday girl.

It was such a pretty day.  After we bowled we went to the park to play.

I told Carter there was no sand box.  Bruce was going to help me find it but I said, there is NO sandbox and gave him a smile.  He understood and didn't say anything else about it.  A few seconds later Carter yells at me and said, "mom there is a sandbox"!   Bruce got a good laugh out of that one.  You can't get anything by kids.

The girls have so much fun together.

Nawlins

Last week I had to attend meetings in New Orleans.  We meet during the day but had plenty time to do some site seeing in the afternoon/evenings.

The St Louis Cathdral
This is the oldest Catholic Cathedral in continual use in the United States.

We went to Cafe du monde for beignets.

New Orleans is a fascinating city.  The feel of the city is one of a foreign country.  There is so much history with a totally different culture than you would see anywhere else in the US.  The Cajan food and music just add to the feel.

Some of the buildings in the French Quarter are breath taking.

There were people everywhere trying to make money.  This guy painted the front side of him gold and then posed as a statute.  His buckets said, tips for picture.

Our hotel was right on Bourbon Street.

We ate very well on this trip.  One night we had dinner at Red Fish Grill.  It was amazing.  On this trip I ate alligator, BBQ Oysters, Crab claws and Red fish.  I am not a huge fan of sea food but with it all being fresh it was pretty good.

You can't go to New Orleans without getting a hurricane at Pat O'Brian's.

The view from the air.  It was such a pretty flight home.

I can only imagine

A friend of mine and I went to the Mercy Me concert.  With our tickets we got to go to a meet and greet with the band before the concert and we received an autographed CD afterward.

Citizen Way opened for them.

Josh with Citizen Way

Mercy Me is one of my favorite bands.  I love their music and they put on an amazing concert.

Lead vocal for Mercy Me - Bart Millard

 Michael John Scheuchzer

Look who I ran into at the concert.  Their seats were right behind ours.

My friends Michelle and I had a great night.

The next morning I was at the airport headed to New Orleans when I ran into Robby Shaffer, the drummer for Mercy Me.

McKenzie's baptism

This past summer McKenzie went to church camp and accepted Christ as her personal savior.  On August 18 she was baptized making a public profession of her faith.  Most of our family came to show their support for McKenzie.

After the baptism, we went to lunch to celebrate Cathy's birthday.

These two are so cute.
