Happy 6th Birthday, McKenzie

McKenzie had a great 6th birthday.  Her celebration started on Friday night when Tim, Carter and I took her to dinner.  McKenzie wanted to go to Olive Garden.  We were pleasantly surprised as we assumed she would pick McDonald's.  After dinner we stopped by the mall to get her ears "pinched".  She has been begging to get it done.  It was part birthday present, part reward for being so good at school.  Then on Saturday our families came, to our house, to help her celebrate with a MU birthday party.

After her party on Saturday, we went to dinner at Shakespeare's, with Tim's family.  The kids enjoyed pizza dough to play with while waiting on our pizza.

Grandad and Reiche went to McKenzie's school for grandparents day.  McKenzie got to show them her class room, read them a book, made a craft, enjoy a snack and then the class sang all the the grandparents a song.

Summer fun

We have been taking every opportunity to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.  Our favorite spot is Stephens Lake park.  They have great playground equipment, swings, sandbox, and a gorgeous view of the lake.  Here are some random pictures from the past few weeks.

One night I grabbed dinner after work and we had a picnic in the park.  Carter man would not share the roll.

Carter was not real sure about the sand at first, but he soon decided it was ok.

McKenzie loves to climb the big rock

When we don't have time to go to the park.  The kids love to swing at home, color with sidewalk chalk and McKenzie loves to ride her bike.  Today, Carter and I took a walk on the sidewalk, in our neighborhood, so Keke could ride her bike further than just to the neighbors driveway.  As always, she got the attention of the neighbor boys and they jumped on their bikes and the three of them rode their bikes together.   I can't believe it but I didn't even think to gab my camera, so no photos of them :(

I will do it myself...

Our little man is growing with leaps and bounds.  He is becoming so independent and he also LOVES to eat.  Tonight we had sloppy joes for dinner.  Carter would not let me help him eat his.  We had a good time watching him devour his.  After dinner his first stop was to the bathtub.
