State Farm day at the park

State Farm had an employee appreciation day at the park, this morning. I took McKenzie and let Tim stay home with Carter. It was just to hot for my little man. McKenzie and I took Dalton with us and we meet up with Chris and Morgan (Dalton's Aunt and Uncle). When we first got there we started with the blow up obstacle course and bounce house. Then we had snow cones, got their faces painted, attempted the sledge hammer, duck pond, and then they wanted to participate in the cake walk. The first game they played Dalton won, the 2nd game, you got it, McKenzie won. We ended up with 3 cakes by the end of the day. State Farm also provided lunch. They had hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled chicken. along with all the sides, cookies and drinks.

This afternoon I had Carter laying on the floor on a blanket getting some tummy time. After a few minutes Carter decided he would rather lay on his back and rolled over. It won't be long until he is rolling all over the place.

Amy's baby shower

This morning McKenzie, Carter and I went to Amy's baby shower. Amy is a good friend from high school. She is having a little girl and is due July 6th. It was a lot of fun to see several of my old friends, their kids and some of their moms. It was also fun to see Michelle. She is also expecting a little girl in September.

Mother's Day Weekend

What a wonderful mothers day weekend. Saturday morning we got up and went to breakfast at Perche Creek Cafe. Then Tim took McKenzie to deer camp to put out salt blocks and let me go shopping with Carter. He slept the whole time so I had a lot of time to look around.
McKenzie and Carter gave me a Pajama Gram on Saturday. It was a packaged gift with a pair of Pjs and salts for the bath. Sunday morning Tim got up early to surprise me with breakfast in bed. He and McKenzie made pancakes. We went to church and then to Grandma Lou's for lunch and Mom and dad's for Dinner. While we were at mom and dad's McKenzie talked grandad into building a fire for her, in the fire ring, so she could make smores. Can we say spoiled??? I enjoyed the smell and the peacefulness of the fire.

Dinner with Uncle John

John came over last night for dinner. He found several mushrooms and he brought them over to share (ok to have Tim cook them). After dinner we went outside to play because the weather was so nice. McKenzie rode her bike up and down the sidewalk. She even let John take a turn. It is pretty funny to watch a 6"4' guy riding a little princess bike:-) McKenzie loved getting to play with him. McKenzie told us that Uncle John is her best friend ever. She likes him because he always plays with her.

Yesterday morning was Carter's 4 month check up. McKenzie got to join us for this visit. We were called back by David, Dr Stuebben's nurse. He took us back to our room and I got carter undressed down to his diaper. We then went to the scale to weigh him in. David took Carter's head circumference it was 17 1/4" which puts him in the 95%. Then David checked his height. Carter is 26" long putting him at 92%, and finally his weight. Carter weighed in at 17lbs 9 oz putting him at 95% on weight. We then went back to our room and waited for Dr Stuebben. She came in and checked Carter over, letting us know that everything looks great. She stated his height and weight are proportionate and has actually thinned down compared to his last visit. After Dr. Stuebben left we had to be revisited by David who gave Carter his vaccines. He had to have 3 yesterday. Two in the form of a shot and one oral. Carter did great with his shots and only cried a little. He was better within a minute. Thank goodness for moms sake.

A weekend with Nana

This weekend we visited Nana and Bruce. Friday evening we had time to talk, we listened to the jukebox, played the pinball machine, and McKenzie played with all of their fun toys. It was a very relaxing evening. Saturday morning we went to breakfast and then to Kaleidoscope at Crown Center. At Kaleidoscope, McKenzie got to make little art projects. There was a dark room with black lights, where she could paint with melted colored wax. There was a station where she got to color a square of cardboard and then put it in a press to have it cut into a puzzle. She got to paint a picture and then place it in a dryer that took it through on a conveyor belt allowing her picture to be dry in only 3 minutes. They also had a submarine that had buttons she could push and each button played a different sound for her to make music. It was such a fun place to visit. Every last detail was meticulously thought out to make it a memorable place for both the kids and adults. We left there and ate lunch at Fritz's. There we called our order in on the phone and then our food was delivered by a train that travels around the restaurant on a train track. It was very interesting to see how it all worked. Saturday afternoon, Jayden and Isabelle came over to play with McKenzie. The basement was filled with giggly little girls running around having a great time. During dinner they were all three tired and would play off each other to make each other laugh. Nana decided maybe McKenzie should be a comedian when she gets big. She does love to make everyone laugh.

Carter was great the whole weekend. He was so content no matter what we did.
