Light the night

Last night our church had an event called light the night.  They had trunk or treats and bounce houses for the kids to play in.

One of the "trunks" had a cowboy and his "horse" for kids to ride

school party

Thursday was McKenzie's "fall" party at school.  They can't have Halloween parties anymore. :-(
They had pumpkin rolling races, a craft and snacks.

Awards banquet

Monday night was the awards banquet for soccer.

They announced each team

calling each player over the PA system as they went up on stage.

Joel Meyers, an illusionist, provided the entertainment.   McKenzie's favorite part was when he made a table levitate.  She has talked about it all week.
In addition to the great performance, all of the kids got a DVD, soccer ball and tons of candy.  They also had several drawings and gave away tons of prizes, including: walkie-talkies, iPods, candy, gift cards, movie baskets, bicycles and much more.

Weekend update

As always we packed a lot into this past weekend.
Saturday was McKenzie's last soccer game.

Reiche and Carter watching the game.  Carter loves to go watch McKenzie play.  He doesn't understand why he can't go out on the field with her though.

Saturday night McKenzie and Carter spent the night at Grandad and Reiche's.  They could have played in the leaves for hours.

McKenzie and Carter had to check out Grandad's new toy.

Sunday Nana and Bruce were driving through town and met us for lunch.  It was so nice to get to spend time with them.

Tim spent part of the weekend at the cabin hunting.  He killed a deer, so we took the meat to D&D farms, a rescue for exotic animals.

We then went for a drive and ended up in Booneville, we ate at A&W since we don't have one at home.

so handsome

Carter is growing and changing so much.  He is really developing his individual personality, displaying interests and talking so much more.
We love this little guy so much and love his gentle, loving spirit.

Homecoming 2011

McKenzie and I went to the homecoming parade this morning with Megan and Dalton.  This year is MU's 100th homecoming, making it a huge celebration.

9 years ago today!

Look what I found on my counter when I got home tonight.

M I Z .... Z O U

Tonight McKenzie, Carter and I went to the MU vs KU volleyball game.  Adventure club, our before and after school program, offered tickets to the game, pizza and a tour of the locker room.

Our great friend Dalton (along with Megan and Sherri) came to the game too

We got to do a team meet and greet in the locker room.
(One of the few times in my life I felt short) :-)

He is big stuff

McKenzie wanted to have her picture taken with this cheerleader because she has curly-curlies.

Henry's baptism

McKenzie and I went to Henry's baptism Sunday.  Joe and Shelly asked me to be Henry's godmother, I was so excited and honored that they wanted me to do this.  I sure do love that little guy.

After Joe and Shelly got married, she had her wedding dress made into christening gowns for the day she had kids.  Henry looked so handsome in his.

Yep, my friend Shyla is famous!

October's issue of Shape Magazine features one of my best friends.  I was out to dinner with Shyla when she got the call that the magazine was out on news stands.  We left dinner to head straight for Target to pick up a copy.  She had me find her story and read it and give my opinion before she would look at it. :)  I think it looks great and am so proud of her success.
