Hurricane Harbor

We met Shelly and Henry last week for a day at Hurricane Harbor in St Louis.  The boys enjoyed the lazy river and wave pool the most, but we talked them into going down a few of the larger slides.

He was one tired little guy when we got home.

Visit to Omaha

Over Memorial Day weekend we visited Jason and Zelda in Omaha.  We went shopping, visited the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and watched an Omaha Storm Chasers ball game.

This guy was very relaxed.

Such a beautiful bird.

feeding the finches.

It sprinkled on us for only a minute while we waited in line to get on the Skyfari.

They boys riding the Skyfari.

I loved watching this guy. I stood and watched him for a long time.  He was massive.

Such a cool zoo. Check out this big guy hiding in the water.

Relaxing back at their house. The kids enjoyed playing the PlayStation with Tim and Jason.

Sunday night we went to watch the Omaha Storm Chasers play baseball.

After the game the kids got to run the bases.

Zelda and Carter "string it up" for the Storm Chasers.

fun in St Louis

I had to take Carter back to the eye doctor in St Louis so we decided to meet up with Shelly and Henry for some fun while we were there.  We went to turtle park, Fitz's and the Zoo.

Petting the sting rays is always a favorite spot

These two have so much fun together.

Henry loves the penguins.  He is very knowledgeable about them and always teaches me something new.

before and after photos

First day of Kindergarten

Last day of school

First day of 5th grade

last day of school

I don't see the mass changes this year that I sometimes see, but they have both grown in height a ton this year.

5th grade Field trip, Picnic and Graduation

Every year they do a 5th grade picnic at the park. They play games, have a photo booth, do a scavenger hunt, BBQ and let the kids have free time.

At the picnic they had each student decorated a puzzle piece to signify their "piece" within the class.

The fifth grade class

The 5th grade took their field trip to the St Louis zoo this year.

I rode up with Angie one of my friends from work and happens to be McKenzie's friend (Sarah's) mom.

McKenzie and Sarah

Jeff's mom and Angie are good friends also so Jeff rode with us as well.  They made the drive up and back very entertaining.

While we were at the zoo my group was made up of 4 kids from McKenzie class. She is good friends with the other three so it worked well. I have to say this was the most well behaved group I have ever taken anywhere.
(El, McKenzie, Jenna & Jerry)

Usually when I visit the zoo the polar bear is laying on a rock. This time he was swimming and very active.  It was so much fun to watch him.

McKenzie graduated Tuesday, May 24th, from elementary school and will advance to Middle school next year.  She received an award for choir, being a leader in safety patrol, being the top reader in her class on MyON and the Principal's award.

She was only allowed to invite 4 people (excluding siblings) to graduation due to space. Nana and Reiche joined us to watch her graduate.

She finally got a cell phone, for graduation.
