Oregon

Last year I supervised a team handling Oregon claims. During that time I hit it off with one of my employees and we have stayed in touch and became really good friends over the year.  When her office closed, I flew to Oregon to be there on her last day to help her "celebrate" the next chapter.

We had a drink at Portland City Grill, on the 30th floor.  This is the view from our table.

Our door knocker at our hotel in Portland.

We sang karaoke one night with a few of our corporate defense attorneys.

VooDoo Doughnuts

I loved all the moss growing on everything.  I thought it was so pretty.

The Waterfalls in Oregon are plentiful and very beautiful.

We hiked to the top of the falls. This is looking down over the top. It was high enough you couldn't see the people at the top when standing on the ground.

The top was 542 feet.

On our way from Portland to Bend we took a slight detour through Washington.

Bride of the Gods.  The bridge that crosses from Oregon to Washington.

Government camp, the base of Mount Hood.

Bend is high desert - we went from snow to desert.

Check out Jackie's shirt.  I took her a little souvenir from Missouri.

On the flight home this guy got to ride in the cabin. I love bulldogs. I wanted to take him home with me.

Our Gymnast

McKenzie had been going to gymnastics for a few years when last October we were approached by they owners of her gym asking her to try out for team.  At first Tim and I were not going to let her do it because of the cost and the time commitment but we are so glad we let her live out this dream.

Waiting for her turn to compete.

Grandpa and Grandma Mertie came to watch her when she competed at Crown Center.

 These girls are so close.

McKenzie made it to state and competed in St Joseph MO.  Jason and Zelda & Mom and Dad all came to watch her compete.

We had a little time before her meet so we toured the Pony Express museum. These two had a good time dressing up.

McKenzie's team was also invited to do a dance/tumbling routine before the Mizzou home gymnastics meet.
