in the works

We went to the Amish to check on the status of my new table...well they have the wood:)  But he said it should be done by the end of this week or the beginning of next.

As I am preparing to get my new table I am getting my old table and chairs ready to go.  I reupholstered  the very dirty white cushions (why did I buy white?) with a new dark brown.

Dad helped me recover the seat cushions.  We were pretty happy with the way they turned out and amazed at how easy it was to do it.

Fun at the lake

We spent the week at the lake over the 4th.  We swam in the morning, swam in the afternoon and swam right before bed.  The kids could not get enough time in the water.
(warning: photo overload)

McKenzie loved to be thrown into the air and land in the water.

The castle at Ha Ha Tonka

We were going to walk down to the spring but it was 1.5 mile hike each way, in 100+ degree temperature and two little kids, we decided to take the path to see the balancing rock instead.  It was only a 1/2 mile each way.

The trail to the the balancing rock.

On our walk we saw where the spring empties into the lake.

The view from our cabin.  We spent several hours through out the week setting out on the deck watching the boats go by.

We watched the fireworks over the water....so much fun.

The kids loved the arcade

Even this kid....We lost Tim for a second and this is where we found him.

The kids had a great time fishing but Carter didn't want his fish to get to close.

McKenzie was really getting the hang of fishing.

We went to Caption Ron's for dinner one night.  They had a beach front entry into the lake, we had to swim there a little while too before we ate.

Ice Cream always helps beat the heat.

Happy Birthday, Henry!

Sunday we helped this little guy celebrate his first birthday.  Joe and Shelly's little guy, Henry.  His actual birthday was Friday, July 6.

Hayden and Rob were in from KC for the weekend to celebrate the 4th.  Carter wasn't real sure about them at first but soon warmed up to Hayden.

Say cheese!

Pattie took family photos for us again this year.  She recently purchased a new Nikon but she brought her D40 for me to play with, while she was using her new one.  Without a doubt, she had better pictures than I did, but I do like the first three below, of the ones I took.

I love how Pattie was able to capture Carter's personality.

McKenzie is a natural.  She would come up with her own pose and say, "Mrs. Pattie, take one of me here"

Can we be done now?
