last minute get away

Last weekend we took an impromptu trip to the lake to do some shopping and to eat at one of our favorite spots, Captain Ron's.

 After we got there we realized it was bike week, so we made one trip down the strip.  There were bikes as far as you could see. 

Before heading home I had to take a few pictures of the sunset over the water.

Grape Stomping 2015

Tim and I took the kids to Les Bourgeois's crush festival.  They had several fun activities for the kids, including; a bounce house, grape stomping, painting pumpkins and a washers game.

Big Surf

We ended summer with a splash.  Tim and I took the kids to Big Surf a couple weekends ago.  The weather was in the high 80.  It rained that morning but then cleared up.  It was an absolutely perfect day to be at the waterpark.  It was warm but not hot and there were no crowds=no lines.

After we worked up an appetite we had dinner at Dog Days Bar and Grill at the lake and watched all the boats on the water. 

We saw several nice boats but this was the nicest by far.  Everyone was walking by taking pictures of it.

Time with Nana

After our weekend in KC we left McKenzie to spend a week with Nana.  McKenzie is always ready for us to go when she gets to stay.  While she was there they went to the zoo, played at the park, got their nails done, swam, went to the movie, ate out, shopping, and even had dance lessons.

After McKenzie's week it was Carter's turn.  Cathy brought McKenzie home and picked Carter up.
