Memorial weekend

was a busy one....Friday night we ate dinner at the Rome to celebrate Tim's birthday.  I also surprised him with a small cake from Diana, because he loves them so much.  I had to spend my day, Saturday at work.  I got home in time to eat dinner, play a little bit and put my babies in bed.  I then went to comedy with some friends from work.

Sunday morning we got up and went to early church and then to Sturgeon to a family reunion.

Monday morning McKenzie was in the Memorial day parade.  She rode on the float with the VA hospital.  Megan and Sherri both work there and they asked if she wanted to ride with them and Dalton.

McKenzie loved being in the parade, all but the fighter jets that flew over to start the parade.  They were so loud they made McKenzie cry. 

But most important we took time to remember those who gave their lives, so that we can have the life we have today.

Wedding bells

Last weekend Tim and John were in Caleb's wedding.  Caleb and John grew up together and over the past 10 years Tim and Caleb to have become pretty good friends.  McKenzie was so proud that her daddy got to stand at the front of the church - she told everyone she saw.

Weekend in the Lou

This past weekend McKenzie and I took the train to St Louis to visit Shelly.  It was one of those things I have wanted to do for a while and I knew McKenzie would enjoy it also.   While in St Louis we went to the butterfly house, the cheese cake factory, Charming Charlie's, along with some other shopping. Sunday, we went to Shelly's first baby shower.  Mom and Grandma Lou joined us for that.

This is what happens when McKenzie is holding an open container of milk and turns her arm over to look at her watch.  It was one of those times, I had to just laugh, poor McKenzie felt so bad.

In the entry of the butterfly house they have all kinds of other insects to look at.  If you look close you can see all the roaches climbing around McKenzie.

Mothers Day Weekend

Last weekend the four of us made a trip to visit Tim's mom and Bruce.  It was a full weekend of great conversation, laughs and making memories.  Friday night we got there in time for McKenzie, Nana and I to make a quick trip to the park.   For dinner, Friday night we had hully gully.  One of Tim's childhood favorite meals.  Saturday morning we  went to the Kansas City zoo.  We loved seeing all the animals.  We hated that we missed the sky tram.  It is scheduled to open in a few weeks.  I guess that means we will have to go back again. :-)

Sunday morning we got up ate breakfast and then went to Deanna Rose Childrens Farmstead.  We had so much fun touring the old one room school house, old bank, ice cream parlor, general store, an Indian encampment, and mining for gold.  There was also a pond to fish with cane poles, pony and wagon rides and lots of farm animals to see.

Birthday fun

I had no idea how far behind I had gotten with my blog until I found these pictures.  Just 3 weeks ago... McKenzie was invited to Luke's birthday party.  Luck is a friend from school.  He had his birthday party at Flipz. The kids had an amazing time running around trying out all of the equipment.

McKenzie would stand on the balance beams and swing off hanging onto the rope.  The balance beam is 4" from the ground, she had to have help to even get on it.

McKenzie had to jump from the blue block and grab a hold of the high bar.  It took her several tries but once she got it there was no stopping her.

16 month checkup

Carter had his 16 month check up this week.  He measured in at 32 inches putting him at 75% on height.  He weighs 25lbs 8oz putting him at 60% on weight, and his head circumference is 19 inches putting him at 75%.  Tim took Carter to this appointment, when I asked Tim if there was anything they talked about to add to the blog he said, "nope, everything looked good".  Typical man :-)    Carter did have to get 2 shots, so I was not sad I missed that.  I did notice how much smaller Carter is compared to the averages now vs when he was little.  He use to always be in the greater 95th% on height and weight and now he is only in the 60-75% range.  

HE IS RISEN!

Easter morning was a pretty typical Sunday morning for us.  We got up went to church and then to Grandma Lou's for lunch.  BUT during lunch the Easter bunny came and hid eggs all over grandma's back yard.  McKenzie and Carter had a good time finding all the eggs, and better yet eating the candy inside.
