Snowmen

Sunday afternoon Tim, John and the kids made snowmen at Grandma Lou's house.  The weather was in the 40's so it was a very pretty day to be outside.

McKenzie buried in the snow.

A visit from Uncle John

Last Friday, the kids and I were snowed in and Tim had gone to St Louis for a welding test.  John came over for dinner and to help me clean off the last little bit of snow Tim had not shoveled.  While he was here I also asked him to help me clean my sink drain.

Poor carter cried the whole time John was outside.  He wanted to go out there and help him.

John had lots of help as he worked on my sink.  John was so patient with the kids, he gave them each a job to do.

BE MY VALENTINE

One night about a month ago I picked McKenzie up from my parents house and she let me know that she was going to have a Valentine party on February 15th.  I kind of down played it and later found out she had already sold it and got buy in from Mom & Dad, and Shelly was coming in from St Louis for the party.  How could I argue with that?  We let McKenzie run with it.  She took control of the planning and did an amazing job.

She made all the invitations herself.

She even talked everyone into making a valentine box.

McKenzie playing legos with the boys.

So sweet,  McKenzie and Shelly are so close.  She loved that Shelly and Henry were there for her party.

Aunt Shelly helped McKenzie make chocolate covered strawberries for the party.  They passed Carter's taste test.

Uncle John - the biggest kid of them all.

I love, love, love this one.  Carter giving Grandma Lou a hug good bye.

I had the day off so Carter and I spent the day together (McKenzie was in school).  We ran several errands.  He was a big help at the grocery store.

It is not real often we get this one on one time.  It was so much fun.

Best looking lunch date there is.

And then we went to Carter's first dentist appointment.

Carter showing Mrs. Heidi his teeth.

Carter did great until this point...then the bib came off, the glasses came off and he was out of the chair.   After a little coaxing he let me set in the chair and him set on my lap, but no bib and no glasses.  He let Heidi clean his teeth and even let Dr Burton look at them for a minute, but then he was done again.

Birthday bash

Carter got the flu for his birthday so we had to cancel his party but we still tried to make it special for him.  I had already ordered his cake so we sang to him, let him blow out his candles and then he went back to bed.

The following weekend we went to Nana and Bruce's to celebrate.  The kids love going and start counting down days before we leave.

Nana taking a second for a quick pinball game.

I think Nana got an art lesson and a math lesson.  She loves her grand babies.

Carter opening his gifts from Nana and Bruce.

Such a cool gift.  Carter got a T-ball stand with bat and balls.

The ride home was a tricky one but we made it safely.
