Magic in the air.

We made two trips to see Santa this year.  The first one I took the kids in their PJs.  I thought they would make such cute Christmas cards but things don't always work out the way we want them to.  

After the first trip Carter and I talked a lot about Santa and Carter was so excited to go see Santa.  He was going to give him a big hug and even agreed to let me take ONE picture.  Once we got there this was as close as he was getting to the big guy.  When I asked Carter on the way home why he didn't give Santa a hug he said he forgot to.  ha!

We also made our annual trip to the magic tree. 

 This year McKenzie wants an IPad, cell phone, IPod touch, and video camera.  Carter wants underwear and a yellow monster truck he can take his sister on a ride in.

Team building

Ross and I manage the two Centralized Salvage Unit teams, in our Total Loss department at work.  As a way to reward our teams for their hard work, we took them for pizza at Shakespeare's (best pizza in town) and then to Canvas on Broadway where we all painted the "eye of the tiger"

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the afternoon out of the office.

Amazing moments: Sunrises

This morning I boarded a 6am flight and got to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunrises.  I just had to share. 

So I didn't even know who he was until one of the guys pointed him out but look who I got to fly next to this morning - Coach Haith.

Happy Halloween

What a fun holiday with kids.  McKenzie went trick or treating with our neighbors this year and I took Carter trick or treating in our subdivision.  Megan (John's girlfriend) and her little girl, Lilly went with us.  Poor Carter was not a fan.  We went to a house where they were dressed as the scream guy.  He told me he didn't want any candy he just wanted to go home.   Once home he was handing out candy when a kid in a scary mask came to our door.  He let out a blood curdling scream and just about climbed my leg.  I think I have traumatized him.  Now he won't stand with his face in the corner when he is in time out, because he is scared of those "scary guys" being behind him. :)

UGH! You have got to be kidding me.

About a month ago, Tim was headed out the door to leave for work.  As he walked across the living room floor each steep squished.  The hot water heater had flooded our living room, over night.  We rented equipment and got the water up then set up commercial fans to dry it the rest of the way.  

I always think to grab my camera but with the extent of this mess I never thought about it, until we had almost everything put back together.  In the pictures below Tim was reinstalling our baseboards. 

The kids were a big help.  They both thought they needed their hearing protection while Daddy was using the nail gun. 

A few nights out

Mom, my friend Michelle and I went to see Big Daddy Weave as a benefit concert. 

We were on the front row.  It was a great concert.

A few nights later I took McKenzie to see Newsboys

The drummer was on a platform.  During one of the songs in tilted until we could see him from above and then he spun around...all while still playing.  (If you look close you can see the guy walking on the stage and see the top of the head of the drummer.)

We haven't done a very good job of working with McKenzie on riding her bike.  Last Sunday we took the kids bikes to Grandma Lou's and John brought his.  We worked with McKenzie until she got to tired to ride anymore that day.  We brought their bikes again this week and McKenzie just got on and rode.  She is so proud of herself.

Carter loves being outside and riding his bike.  He turned down a ride on the dune buggy with Grandad, so he could keep riding his bike. 

While the kids were riding daddy snuck off and hit a few golf balls. 

Family Fun

We went to Adventure clubs open house.  Adventure club is a before and after school program.  McKenzie enjoys it and gets upset if we pick her up to early of an evening.  

At the open house they provided dinner, crafts, bounce houses, games, a photo booth and several local vendors to share information about their services.

McKenzie loved the photo both and getting dressed up.  We asked Carter to dress up and he just wanted to bounce.

This was the 6th or 7th photo I took of Tim, he kept making faces but this one he looks pretty cute in.  Even with that ornery grin.

The Show Me Games hosted the pumpkin fun run.  It was a 1.3 mile run.  The kids I participated in the run.  I really enjoyed getting to run with them.

Carter sure does love his big sister.  

 He got so upset when anyone would pass him.  I think he is going to be pretty competitive.
