Date night

Friday night Tim and I went to the Jason Aldean Concert.  Tim is good friends with Jason Aldean's video director.  Before the show we meet up with him.  After hearing how much work goes into the set up/tear down and preparation for the shows, I have a new respect for the guys that work behind the scenes.  

American Girl Doll

It was McKenzie's special weekend.  Nana took McKenzie to the American Girl doll store to pick out her very own doll.

After McKenzie made the tough decision of which doll she wanted, Cathy took her to ride the carousel.  

She was going so fast and laughing out loud the whole time.  

Cathy, McKenzie and I ate lunch at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.  There was a very nice restaurant inside and McKenzie, like all the kids, enjoyed this fountain. 

 McKenzie also asked for a manicure.  She knew exactly what she wanted and she told the lady how she wanted her nails to look.

While McKenzie, Nana and I were running around, Bruce, Tim and Carter went to lunch at Fritz's Railroad Restaurant. 

When we all got back to Bruce and Cathy's Pas, Scott and the kids came over for a fun evening.

Jayden and Isabelle spent the night Saturday night.  The girls had a giggly late night.  Sunday morning the weather was so nice the kids played outside burning off a little energy.    

 Pas is so cute.  It was nice getting to see him over the weekend. 

Afternoon at Grandma Lou's

She is ready for this summer.  Uncle Joe, Aunt Shelly and Henry got McKenzie a swimming cap and googles.  Now if it will just warm up. 

 McKenzie asked Grandma Lou to make her cookies rather than a cake for her birthday.

McKenzie's 8th Birthday Party

McKenzie celebrated her 8th birthday at the pool with some of her closest friends.

The kids were very excited to see their Easter baskets.

Then we headed to church to celebrate the real reason for Easter.

After church we went to Grandma's for lunch and had an egg hunt.

 Tim hid an egg on the tire of his car.  Carter went to get it and as he reached for it Tim hit the button on his remote so the horn honked.  It scared Carter and this is the look he gave Tim.  

I give Tim that same look often because he likes to scare me too.

John went to mom and dads property in town to cut some vines on a tree.  Carter and McKenzie went with him and this is how Carter came back.  Carter loves to hang out with Johnny Johnny (what he calls John) and now I know why.
