Birthday bash

Friday night several girls from work helped Michelle celebrate her birthday at Osaka, a Japanese restaurant.  We had a private room where we were able to talk, laugh, and sign karaoke.

Aloha

Today was the State Farm luau.  SF rented a pool in town for employees and their families, they had bounce houses, dinner from jimmy johns,  Andy's frozen custard, snow cones, a photo booth, prizes, a beach towel for everyone and so much more.

Carter knew what he wanted.  He saw the frozen custard and walked up to the table got a spoon and a cup of custard.

We took our good buddy Dalton with us.  We just love him.

I finally let McKenzie jump off the diving board tonight.  She has been begging to do it since last summer, but I had to make sure she was a strong enough swimmer before I would let her.  And she did great, and LOVED it.

Hello, 1st Grade!

This morning was McKenzie's first day of school.  She was so excited to see all her friends from last year.  Tuesday night was back to school night.  We took all of her school supplies and met her teacher that night, so this morning she was ready to go.

Such a big girl

Carter wanted to be in the picture also.

This morning I told McKenzie she better be good today, she told me, "I always am the first day of school"

Where did the summer go?

Yesterday was McKenzie's last day of summer break.  I took the day off to spend with her.  The weather was so nice, we spent most of the day outside.  We had a picnic lunch, played outside, did a little shopping and made a stop for some frozen custard.

weekend fun.

Last weekend was Tim's 15 year high school reunion.  The kids and I joined him in Platte City.  While Tim went to his reunion the kids and I stayed in the hotel.  We swam, ordered pizza for dinner, watched cartoons and played.  The next morning we met up with Tim's brother Jason.  We went to Nebraska furniture mart, Cabala's and had lunch at T-Rex.

love time with friends and family

I have gotten in trouble because I have not updated my blog lately:-)  OK maybe not "in trouble" but it is time for an update.  These past few weeks have been very busy but on top of that I have been hibernating, studying for an insurance test.....which I passed today, so I can have my life back.

This is what I have had to look at every free moment the past few weeks - I was so glad to throw it all away.

Shelly and Henry came for a visit a few weekends ago.  It was great to see both of them, but I could not get enough of that little guy.  I was told more than once I was a baby hog -- but I was ok with that:-)

Carter loved getting to see Aunt Shelly but he is still not real sure about Henry.

McKenzie covered Henry in kisses.

look how sweet he is

Tim even had to get his turn in.  He is such a sucker for babies.  I was/am so lucky to have all his help with our kids.

This past weekend Tim went to the Calloway fair with John.  It was pretty late when the demolition derby finished so they stayed at the cabin in Fulton.  Since Tim was going to be gone and we were going to be home McKenzie, Carter and I had Dalton over to play, eat pizza and watch the movie, Rio.

McKenzie and Dalton were so good to Carter.  They played with him and his farm set, they let him swing with them and they let him lay with them to watch the movie.

They made their spot for the movie in the middle of the living room floor.

I had chips and twizzlers for them to snack on during the movie. (Don't tell Tim I let them eat in the living room.  Tim just scroll to the end....I would NEVER let them eat in the living room) :-)

Carter kept stealing their snacks.  (That boy loves to eat)

Carter looking for an opportunity to steal a chip.  I think Dalton gave Carter his whole first bag of chips.  Dalton had to get a 2nd bag so he could have one.

I love you.

Carter loves watching everything McKenzie does.

McKenzie and Carter love each other so much, it is so cute to see them play together.  McKenzie is such a little mom and makes sure Carter is always taken care of and Carter always keeps an eye out for where McKenzie is and what she is doing.
